OK, this is all the usual bits - standard interest rate of 15.9% is around the middle of the market. There's a three-month introductory rate for purchases of 0%, and a 0% balance transfer rate that will apply for the first 12 months on any transferred balances.
Overall, a pretty standard offering from Alliance and Leicester. There are better rates and better 0% periods out there, and most of those will have some kind of reward scheme or other offers tacked on too. What the Alliance and Leicester credit card has is simplicity.
The Best Bits
By far and away, the Alliance and Leicester credit card is primarily suited for making use of the 0% balance transfer deal over the next 12 months.
There is also no annual fee, but this in common with most of the other cards on the market.
There's an Internet fraud guarantee. So A&L promise that you won’t have to pay for any spending on your card as a result of theft, loss or fraud as long as you tell them straight away there’s a problem.
Accessibility too is good, with the ability to manage the card entirely online.
Watch Out For
This card is issued by MBNA, so if you already hold a MBNA card that you want to transfer the balance from, you can’t. Transfers from other MBNA cards are not allowed.
