More about Barclaycard OnePulse credit card...

The Barclaycard OnePulse credit card is designed for Londoners and to-London commuters to help make London transport travel run a little more smoothly.

Oyster card
If your wallet - or purse - is starting to bulge at the seams, the Barclaycard OnePulse credit card could reduce the filling in more ways than one.

The Barclaycard OnePulse credit card has a built in Oyster card that can be loaded with a season ticket Travelcard or bus pass, or a pay as you go Oyster card.

The pay as you go option can have an auto top-up set up too, of £40 or £20 to be debited from your Barclaycard OnePulse credit card account whenever your Oyster pay as you go balance drops below £5.

If you already have a pre-loaded Oyster card or season ticket you can phone up the Oyster helpline (0845 330 9876) or visit their website tfl.gov.uk/oyster to arrange the transfer. It must be noted, you may not be able to transfer some currently held season tickets, so you may have to wait until they expire before loading a new season ticket onto the Barclaycard OnePulse credit card.

OneTouch
Aside from eliminating the extra plastic of carry a credit card and a separate Oyster card (or travel tickets), the Barclaycard OnePulse credit card will also cut down on the amount of coins you need to carry too.

OneTouch is a new payment system that allows you to simply hold your credit card in front of a secure reader and pay for purchases of £10 or less in less than a second - without the fuss of entered a PIN or counting out your pocket change.

OneTouch is processed through the same secure network as chip and PIN and the card payment technology is made by Barclaycard Business.

Barclaycard estimate the over 5 million contactless (OneTouch) cards will be in circulation by the end of 2008. However, we are nearing the end of September and so far the only participating merchants are Books etc, Thresher, EAT., Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Yo! Sushi and Coffee Republic Deli.

It has to be said though; you'll easily find at least one if not all of the above mentioned retailers in passing through Victoria or most major London stations.

Barclaycard services and benefits
As a Barclaycard, the OnePulse credit card offers a range of cardholder services and benefits that come as standard.

Looking after your credit card purchases is purchase delivery protection - covering new goods bought online, over the telephone or on the high street when delivered to your home if they don't arrive or they are damaged on delivery.

Barclaycard will also be actively monitoring fraud, and if anything looks suspicious on your account they will get in touch to make sure it's not fraudulent.

Travellers and regular holiday makes can look forward to savings with the Barclaycard Travel Service along with free comprehensive travel insurance when you book through them too.

Barclaycard also offer worldwide assistance and an emergency card replacement and cash advance service.

Of course, you'll also be able to access the shopping discounts available to Barclaycard cardholders with select retailers and companies such as Thomas Cook, Avis, Hilton, Emirates, Center Parcs, buyagift.com, Laithwaites and Dominos.

Final word
Any London commuters looking to lighten the load - literally - will be very well suited to the Barclaycard OnePulse credit card.

And as far as credit card payments go, your purchases and money will be as well looked after as on any Barclaycard.
