Using your retail rewards credit card
Retail rewards credit cards are rewards based credit cards that are ideally suited to those that like to shop, as you can earn discounts off a range of products and from a choice of retailers depending on which credit card you take out.
Like all other rewards based credit card you earn your rewards through spending on the card, so the more you use your card to make purchases the more points you will earn and the better your discounts off various products.
There are a number of shops and retailers that offer retail rewards credit cards, and you can enjoy getting money off various products as specified by the card issuer.
For example, with a Shell retail rewards credit card you can enjoy getting discounts on your fuel purchases from Shell stations, and with a Nectar retail rewards credit card you will enjoy discounts off products from a range of retailers that are affiliated with Nectar. With the GM credit card you can even earn points to get money off a new car, so the possibilities are endless. Other products and services that you can enjoy money off based on the card that you have include travel services and products, DVDs, CDs, books, electrical products, and more.
It is important to remember that the interest rates charged on these credit cards can vary, and in order to fully benefit from these cards you need to be disciplined enough to repay your balance in full at the end of each month.
This is because you will otherwise be hit with high interest charges, and these will counteract the benefits of the reward. However, by repaying the balance in full and using the card to make purchases as much as possible you can earn maximum rewards without having to pay any interest charges.
