About Goldfish i24 credit card...
- Free 24 hour concierge service
- Priority Pass to over 500 executive airport lounges
- Free annual comprehensive travel insurance
Goldfish describe their i24 card as aimed at the 'ultra-premium' market. The annual fee is correspondingly high, but so are the benefits.
The i24 credit card is aimed at high-earners who travel abroad frequently and tend to use their plastic regularly. Key to this is that the card does not charge a 'Foreign Transaction Fee', unlike most other cards on the market. This equates to a typical saving of 2.75% on all overseas transactions.
There is a competitive balance transfer offer that continues until the transferred balance is repaid in full, although - in common with all other cards - because of the Allocation of Payments clause, you will be charged the standard purchase rate on any purchases made with the card until your transferred balance is cleared.
The best thing about this card though is the travel services; as well as the zero fee on foreign transactions, you get comprehensive travel insurance with sports cover and up to £5M medical cover. There is also a concierge service that you can call for anything from table reservations at a quality restaurant to language translation services. You also get a Priority Pass to access Executive Travel Lounges at airports worldwide.
And on top of all this the Goldfish i24 credit card offers an unlimited 1% cash back on all purchases.

| Typical APR |
57.8% APR (variable) |
The Typical APR has been calculated using the standard £1,500 credit limit as stipulated by consumer credit law. The use of a £1,500 credit limit, coupled with the annual fee, makes the APR look artificially high. The APR in the credit agreement will be 22.0% APR, and has been calculated using the card''s actual minimum credit limit of £7,500. None of this changes the actual interest rate that applies to the i24 Card, which is 13.9% p.a. for purchases. |

More about Goldfish i24 credit card...
Aimed firmly at the executive market, Goldfish's i24 credit card has an eye-watering annual fee of £275, and to be eligible, you need to be earning £50K plus.
However, if you're going to spend more than around £30K a year on your card, then the cash back will take care of the fee.
This is not a card to keep in your wallet for the status. To get the best value, it needs to be used.
Travel Services
Most credit cards charge a Foreign Transaction Fee if they are used outside the UK. The i24 credit card is one of the few on the market that does not, so if you are going to spend £10K abroad this year the saving would again cover the £275 annual fee.
Most standard cards also provide a basic level of travel accident insurance [see our travel accident insurance guide here]. The Goldfish i24 credit card provides a comprehensive policy to appeal to the frequent traveller, including £5million medical cover, sports cover, lost luggage cover and cancellation of trip cover. The policy covers the whole family, including children up to the age of 25.
Concierge Service
One of the best add-on services of the i24 credit card is a concierge service. Some other credit cards provide this, but Goldfish claim this service is comprehensive. One call can help you with finding an itinery, booking a restaurant or flight or language translation assistance. For the busy executive traveller, this will provide one of the major benefits of the card.
The Goldfish i24 card also allows you access to Executive Lounges at major airports worldwide with a free Priority Pass membership worth £259. If you are a frequent flyer, then this may be enough alone to offset the annual fee.
Interest Rates
The Goldfish i24 card offers a balance transfer rate of 5.9% p.a. for balances transferred before 1st February 2008. This is charged on the balances transferred until the full amount of the balance transfer is paid off.
Though there are better balance transfer rates out there, the Goldfish i24 credit card does not charge a balance transfer fee, which for other cards can be up to 3%.
Be aware though, that because of the Allocation of Payments clause in the small print, any repayments you make to the card will be deducted from the balance transfer amount first, leaving any purchases you make waiting in line, which is a similar terms and conditions finding on all other cards.
Purchases are charged at an interest rate of 13.9% p.a. Whilst not the best rate on the market, it is a couple of points below the average. If you clear you balance in full each month, then you get up to 58 days interest free on purchases.
Because of the annual fee, the quoted APR looks high in comparison with cards that do not charge a fee. However, Goldfish are at pains in their advertising to point out that the actual rates charged are comparable with the rest of the market.
Cash back
On top of all the other benefits, there is a straightforward 1% cash back offer, paid annually by cheque. This could add up to a significant amount if you spend a lot on your credit card, especially considering there are no ceiling limits on the cash back earning potential.
If much of your spending is abroad, then you also save with the 0% foreign transaction fee when compared with most credit cards on the market.
Final Word
The i24 credit card from Goldfish is not for everyone. It is a good card if you are a high earner and frequent traveller. Add-ons like the concierge service are a good perk if you tend to make use of them. For those that use these add-ons, this is a great card, but you need to be using them in order to get best value from the annual fee.
